ROSE GOLD – now I’ve got your attention. Today’s post is reviewing the Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipsticks, a recent launch by the company, I was lucky enough to swatch them at the Makeup Revolution 2nd Birthday Party and knew I had to add to them my makeup collection ASAP. I mean how can the can the mix of makeup and rose gold so wrong? Continue reading to hear more about this makeup addicts idea of heaven on earth…
Needless to say, the packaging of these 5 product collection (although I didn’t opt for the bright pink one as it’s a shade I simply wouldn’t wear) is simply gorgeous, you don’t even need to be rose gold obsessed to appreciate their beauty. That said, I can’t imagine anyone will dislike the rose gold bullets. They fit perfectly in my acrylic holder right alongside my Mac lipsticks and look much more attractive at that, despite the fact these cost a tiny £3 each compared to my Mac ones at £15.50. Hefty price difference at that! So let’s talk more about the specific colours in the collection.
(from left to right)
Red Carpet – I received this in my goody bag at the Makeup Revolution Party and it spurred the need to add the other shades I’d wear to my collection. This is perfect if you want to look glamorous as this traditional red lipstick has a surprisingly amazing creamy formula with a high gloss formula that can be build up for a more intense look. I’d say this is a neutral red that would suit all skin types and you’re going to get at least six hours of wear on each application.
Diamond Life – this is a gorgeous berry red I’d say is incredibly comparable to Mac’s Diva, not just for the autumn/winter, this would make an incredible colour for spring and summer too! Again a very universal shade, I’d say you’d need two/three layers to get ultimate pigmentation, but at £3, I don’t think you can really complain.
Chauffeur – I often worry at cheaper nudes, but oh boy have Makeup Revolution got this so right. This is an incredible ‘your lips but better’ with a slight brown undertone like a muted version of Mac’s Velvet Teddy, an amazing shade for the everyday. This had been the first shade to be sold out and was a pain to get hold of but for good reason, this is a great success.
Private Members Club – the darkest of the collection, this is a high gloss purple shade I can’t wait to wear on a night out. It has very similiar undertones to Mac’s Rebel and is a autumn/winter shade but I had to add it to my collection as I’m OBSESSED with darker shades at the moment. I’d say you definitely get longer wear out of the darker shades in this collection and so for that reason, this is the shade with the best longevity.
Makeup Revolution is a brand that I believe are going from strength to strength at the moment and are definitely a brand to watch out for as I can tell there a lot more good things coming from them. With the £3 price tag (plus 20% off if you download their app on any smartphone) these are one of the cheapest lipsticks in my makeup stash, but the quality does not reflect that. If you’re rose gold or makeup obsessed.. or simply on the market for a new lipstick.. I recommend you check these out on wither the Makeup Revolution website or in any Superdrug store to see why the hype for these are so real.
Have you tried these lipsticks yet or interested in trying them out? Let me know!
