I was introduced to the Laura Mercier foundation primer in my first beauty box a few months back! This was my first ever primer and I loved it from the start, so much so I had to repurchase it again, and then again after I finished my first full sized tube from the Latest in Beauty beauty box. See why the Laura Mercier foundation primer is my new favourite makeup step!
First Impressions: I was yet to own a primer before I got my hands on this and I was so excited to use it following the success of other primers such as the Benefit Porefessional product. Primers took the beauty world by quite a storm, helping to achieve a flawless finish to make-up as well as helping to moisturise your face which will help prevent spots and oils that make-up can create. Also, primers help to hide wide pores which quite frankly is a blessing for those mornings that we all have where our face is having an ‘off day’. I couldn’t wait to have this in my make-up routine and see how much of a difference it really makes to the application and finish of the product.
Using the Product: I dispense a tiny pea sized amount on my hand and apply the primer to the areas where my pores are more evident: nose, chin and forehead. Also, I apply it where my face gets shiny throughout the day. This product goes so far and has lasted me for ages, at £18.90 it is quite steep but it lasts for so long. I have the 30ml product but will be buying the 50ml next time to save some money as this is definitely my holy grail primer. I have yet to try the Benefit Porefessional and although I’ve read many great reviews, many any say that it does little to mask evident pores, but this works wonders so I won’t be changing it for the Benefit primer. I make sure I let the primer sink in to my skin for just under five minutes, any less I don’t feel that you can get the best finish. I also put the primer under my eyes to brighten up my eyes and it works great. It is so simple to use and makes such a difference to foundation application. I am currently using the L’Oreal True Match foundation which you can find here.
Will I Be Buying Again? Of course, I absolutely love this primer. It is so weightless and not only primes my face ready for foundation but also brightens my face during early mornings perfectly. This is my first Laura Mercier product and I’m singing and dancing about it so much I’ll have to get more from her range to add to my ever growing make-up collection. If any other products are like this primer then I’ll love it just as much.
Have you ever tried the Laura Mercier foundation primer before? How did you find it?
