Skincare is such a huge focus for me in 2018; improving my skins texture and oil production is such a battle. When I saw this proto-col microdermabrasion product I was instantly intrigued. I’ve been using similar products for years but have yet to find the ‘one’. The proto-col microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types and aims to polish, renew and reveal skin. Does it live up to the claim? Keep reading to find out.
If you’re unsure what microdermabrasion is then I’ll quickly explain – it’s a technique where tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to gently remove the outer layer of your skin. This technique can be pretty expensive and is quite exclusive however products such as the proto-col microdermabrasion offer the same results at a fraction of the cost and in the comfort of your own home. I like to think of it as an exfoliation to help rejuvenate and brighter skin more than traditional methods.
As a sensitive skin gal, this often freaked me out as it sounded like hell for my skin, however, the proto-col microdermabrasion contains teeny tiny beads to help work into the skin without aggravating it or making it red! I’ve shown swatches below of the consistency to put your mind at rest:
When using the proto-col microdermabrasion, you don’t want to overuse it as it can encourage more oil production as you’re stripping your skin. I would use this twice a week as part of my nighttime skincare routine and ensure I use moisturiser afterwards, despite having oily skin, so my skin didn’t feel dehydrated.
After use, my skin felt ridiculously soft, like insanely soft. I got Rich to stroke my face on numerous occasions as I was in awe of how my skin felt. To look at, you could still see the texture on my face; my problem areas include my chin and temples. I’ve been using this for around six weeks now and I’ve also noticed my pores look a lot smaller than they did before I began my trial of the proto-col microdermabrasion which is a miracle on my skin as my pores are the bain of my life so I’m really impressed with this product.
The RRP of the proto-col microdermabrasion is £11.95 but it’s currently on offer here for under £10. With this price in mind, I’m even more impressed with the performance of this product; everything from the way it felt to the results long term has ticked all the boxes for me and I’d recommend this to anyone looking to step up their skincare routine.
