So after giving Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara a go (see my review here), I made it my duty to try and find a dupe to share with you guys that takes everything I love from They’re Real and improves upon the things I didn’t (basically just the fact its super clumpy by the end of the day). Mission impossible? Keep reading to see my Max Factor clump defy extensions false lash effect mascara review.
First Impressions: At £11.99 compared to Benefits £19.50 price tag I was eager to give this a good go, the size is an amazing size which I love about all of Max Factors Mascaras. The claim of ‘Extensions False Lash Effect’ does give me an extreme high expectation and I felt this was the closest claim to Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’, so all was left was to put it to the test. This is available at Boots and having asked the Sales Assistant of her opinion of the product, she assured me that I had picked out a real gooden and it was the mascara that has been her ‘go-to’ recently so I couldn’t wait to take it home and try it out for myself!
Using The Product: I applied about two layers of this mascara, the first ensuring that it did remain clump free which was really easy, just gently wiggle the brush from right to left on your lashes whilst pushing the brush through your lashes. It was much thinner than the Benefit mascara, however the length of the two were very comparable. Benefit gives the thickness that you get with false lashes which is something I actually like (until it dries up at night and goes clumpy) but if you wanted something lighter on your lashes without compromising on length then this is definitely for you. This is so perfect for every day wear especially throughout the summer when you don’t want to be wearing a heavy face of make-up. This makes lash lengthening look extremely natural and I’ve been using this for work, whilst saving my ‘They’re Real# mascara for evenings when I want a bigger and bold eye. Love it! Removing this mascara was so easy, no special makeup remover needed, a makeup pad takes it right off without pulling out any lashes. It’s so amazing, I can’t believe this is only £11.99!
Will I Buy Again? I spoke beforehand about not finding ‘the one’ when it comes to mascaraland, however I think I’ve definitely found my winning combo! This and ‘They’re Real’ are very similar in terms of results, the Max Factor providing a more natural finish and Benefit providing a ‘true false lash’ look, both providing lashes with maximum volume. At £11.99 it’s a great bargain and a fantastic equivalent to the Benefit mascara if you’re looking to save a few pounds.
I hope you enjoyed this Max Factor clump defy extensions false lash effect mascara review, are you considering trying it out?
