A couple of weeks ago I decided to buy myself an early 21st birthday present of a few items I’ve had on my Mac wishlist for quite some time now. There was a 10% off beauty event at Debenhams and managed to add them all to my basket with a little discount which is what we like to hear! I’m going to be giving my first impressions in todays post and if you want a review post on any of the products be sure to let me know in the comments I’ll be more than happy to write about them in more detail after I’ve used them for a few weeks!
Studio Fix Foundation in NC15 / and Foundation Pump.
I reviewed a sample I received from a mini mac haul I did not so long ago which you can find here, in that post I concluded that I would be picking up the full sized product next time I buy some new Mac products. I just had to find an excuse to justify splurging out, but if turning 21 isn’t one, I don’t know what is. The bottle looks so small compared to my 120ml face and body foundation but I know this is going to last me so long. This is definitely a medium to full coverage foundation and my first of this coverage but having used the sample for about a week, I loved the more ‘airbrushed’ finish it left not to mention how well the colour matches my natural tone. I much prefer yellow toned foundations and I can honestly understand what the hype is all about. It’s amazing and recommend everyone to grab a sample next time they are in a Mac store! I did decide to buy a foundation pump for the bottle (I cried that it doesn’t come with one) but I’d hate to waste any product and know I’ll be repurchasing once this one runs low so I can continue to recycle the pump, without it you’d have to pour the product and I’m far too clumsy for that!
Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade.
This gorgeous highlighter featured on my Holiday Makeup Wishlist and I couldn’t not add it to my basket. A highlighter made for paler skin (another case of pale girl problems) I have read countless reviews stating just much of a gorgeous glow it adds to the skin. I really wanted to pick this up before I went on holiday as I don’t want to take any foundation with me, but I did want to enhance the glow the sun would add to my face. This seemed to tick all the boxes. It was a more expensive highlighter than those in the market but the pigmentation is second to none plus the product is really big, I know this is going to last me years and years. Soft and Gentle often steals the limelight of the Skin Mineralise finishes by Mac, but if you have a paler complexion, give this a go! It’s AMAZING plus looks so natural. Love it!
Creme Cup Lipstick.
I always try to buy a new lipstick with every Mac order in order to build up my collection as they’re the best lipsticks I’ve ever used. This is Creme Cup, if you haveen’t heard about it on the blogosphere, then where have you been? It’s a cult favourite and I can totally see why. It’s cremesheen finish is not very drying and makes lips look moisturised! It’s a nudey-pink and very Kim Kardashian. I wore it to uni the other day and absolutely loved how long it lasted. Can’t wait to pair this up with a dramatic eye on a night out.
Blush in Blushbaby.
I’ve been after a natural blush for ages and I came across Mac’s Blushbaby by total mistake but loved it at first sight. So many reviews commented on how gorgeous it looked on paler skin and I was immediately sold. I purchased by Nars Dual intensity blush for a deeper blush/contour but was looking for a matte finish one and Mac seemed to have fit the exact bill perfectly. It swatches very lightly but can be build up from a natural to a dramatic look very well and blends like a dream.
Prep and Prime Fix+
This was another item on my Holiday Wishlist but unfortunately the scented editions were completely sold out so I purchased the standard one which nonetheless still smells incredible. I have wanted to try a setting spray as well as something to help moisturise my skin before makeup application and I couldn’t wait to give this a go! I love that it claims to make a face gull of makeup look less powdery which is something I really hate and the 100ml bottle should last a long time!
So here we have it, Mac you have dented my purse but I love nothing more than new makeup especially products made by Mac. Everything is so gorgeous, and although I haven’t had long enough to test them all out, I can tell we are all going to get on extremely well.
