As I began sorting through my makeup and reorganising it all ready for my move, I soon realised that quite a lot of products I use are incredibly affordable so be sure to see what drugstore makeup products you need for spring as well as an explanation on why they are so amazing in this post…
Any MUA Palette / Now I own the MUA Spring Break Palette which is definitely well-loved and has been for a number of months, I bought this last year and seem to be going back to it quite a lot as considering the price, the pigmentation is incredible and this makes for an amazing palette to travel with for all my spring shades. That said, MUA (found in Superdrug stores) offer so many beautiful palettes at only a few pounds and if you’re on the high street and looking to try something new, this is an item you certainly won’t regret.
Makeup Revolution Highlight in Peach Lights / Makeup Revolution is a brand I’ll continue to rave about here on Blonde Amy and in very good reason – cheap yet high quality products. Now my full review of this highlighter can be found here, but basically this is a Mac Soft & Gentle dupe which lasts on my skin for a solid 6/8 hours, which is excellent for the £3 price tag.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder / Now I’ve loved this and I’ve hated it but if you watched my Everyday Spring Makeup video here then you’ll know at the moment I’m loving it. I love making this into a loose powder to set my under eyes (see video for that hack) but I do feel it sets my foundation in place, that said if I wear a thick foundation I find this does cake a lot more than if my foundation is thinner so this is perfect if you’re currently wearing lighter foundations but if you’re a full coverage kinda girl maybe stay away.
Rimmel Good to Glow Highlighter / I know I’ve spoken about a powder highlight but if I was to really want my highlight to be seen from space, I’ll wear this underneath Peach Lights and it gives such a gorgeous finish together. On its own I’ll use it either on top of my foundation for that very melted into your skin kinda look (which i love by the way) or I have mixed it with foundation for a more dewy, radiant finish or lastly with a moisturizer for a DIY strobe cream and all tips work perfectly for that spring glow we are all after. Liquid highlighters are such a versatile product and this is incredibly affordable.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge / Now this is not my favourite beauty sponge ever, however I have been using it quite a lot recently (out of laziness to clean my Beauty Blender) and although it is not as soft as the infamous BB, it does still do a very good job of blending liquid products together and giving a flawless finish. See my post comparing all my beauty sponges here to see other affordable ones you need to try before splurging on the BB.
L’Oreal True Match Foundation (4.D/4.W) / I have finally given into fake tanning and thank goodness. I love that I look a little more alive with a bit of colour in my skin and this has become my foundation of choice when I am a little darker and the re-formulation of these have gone beyond my expectations for a drugstore foundation. At £9.99 it’s not by all means the cheapest foundation out there, but this is very comparable to my higher end foundations and it provides a medium coverage whilst feeling light on the skin – all round thumbs up from me (p.s. the new packaging also looks so luxe!).
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams / Now this recommendation goes for all of the colours as they are such a moisturising liquid lipstick from the drugstore that wear really well throughout the day. The matte formula keeps them kiss-proof and their shade range is something I definitely love. I ordered so many in my Nyx Haul (see that post here) and have yet to find a dud in my collection. Definitely recommend you try them if you haven’t already!
Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipsticks / Now I couldn’t get through this post without mentioning these babies! These are very comparable to the Mac Cremesheen lipsticks – adding moisture to your lips with a colour too and the colour being very pigmented at that. My full review is here and if you’re interested in picking them up I’d definitely recommend you check that out!
