Whilst H&M was having 20% off for students with the UNiDAYS app, I just couldn’t resist a mini haul! I wasn’t going to blog about what I got but I picked up a H&M nude eye shadow as I was looking at their make-up and something urged me to put it in my basket along with an eye shadow brush to accompany my new buy. The H&M nude eye shadow palette jumped out at me as a really nice nude set of soft shimmer colours, not too full on, but perfect for every day wear. I am a sucker for nude make-up and so I decided to give it a try at only £3.99, minus the 20% off. Total bargain, but would it be any good? You’ll be pleasantly surprised if you keep reading!
When I spend any less that a tenner on a palette I don’t expect much but this is so pigmented, it is only a little chalky and not only applies like a dream but stays on all day. I have been wearing this all this week and it is as evident on before I take my make-up off as to when I put it on – it is a really great palette and I wasn’t even aware of H&M’s make-up collection until I spotted this beautiful thing. After loving the quality of this, I will be buying more from their range. They have everything from lipstick to mascara and if they’re anything like this then I’ll be loving them just as much.
I’m not usually a shimmer fan, in fact I’m a total matte girl but these have a soft shimmer and look more like a highlighter than a shimmery eye shadow and therefore really help to brighten up your eyes with a ‘your eyes but better’ result. Also, you get so much product for your money and these are going to last me such a long time and I know they’ll be my ‘go-to’ for spring/summer.
I had yet to buy an eye shadow brush and when I saw H&M’s one for a little £1.99 I thought I’d give it a try. I’m a Real Techniques fan but I wanted to start playing around right away and just like the palette, this brush is a great quality; it not only helps to apply the eye shadow gently but also allows you to shade and blend brilliantly. The hairs are synthetic and are super soft, preventing harsh application. I’m 100% going back to check out the other brushes, make-up and everything. The quality mimics high quality brands with a beauty range that is quite easily dismissed. H&M – I love you, keep this up!
