I have been lusting over so many MAC products after reading other reviews and youtube videos that I’m sure if I were to buy everything I have on my list, I’d easily spend hundreds but I should get the things top on my list and add to my collection every time I get paid! When my sister and I recently went to Oxford Street, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to swatch some products before I purchase them. A new lipstick for the upcoming Autumn months was high on my list as well as a paint pot in order to prime my eyes before applying eyeshadows from my new Naked 2 palette. With that in mind I was so excited to see which products would suit my skintone best!
1. Mac Paint Pot in Painterly.
I was looking for the best primer for my eyes before eyeshadow application and was recommended this countless times I knew I needed to give it a go! There were a few different shades I was considering but the Painterly colour was a perfect natural shade for my skintone that covers little veins ect. which is amazing. You get so much product for your money too and I know this is going to be a staple in my makeup look every day. I have worn this on its own too for a ‘no make-up, make-up look’ and it’s incredible. As you can see, I had to use it before taking pictures for my blog and have got so many compliments since wearing it, I’d recommend it to anyone!
2. Satin Lipstick in Brave.
The Kylie Jenner lip is going to remain as a beauty favourite and with the Velvet Teddy hype going crazy a few months back, I was still on the hunt for the perfect nude for me, however the brown tones of Velvet Teddy would simply wash me out so I kept my eyes out for an alternative that would suit my paler complexion. Brave is basically Velvet Teddy but with pink undertones and so it makes it much more versatile. I tried it on at MAC and fell in love and have worn it so much since. I love having this when my eyes look dramatic for a night out but it looks good in the day time as a ‘my lips but better’ look. If you’re looking for a new nude for your collection and haven’t checked out Brave, you must! The Satin finish is also fantastic and is a new favourite over matte as it looks matte once dried but does not dry out my lips half as much. Perfect! I’ll be getting more from the Satin range for sure.
3. False Lashes Mascara (Sample)
What I love most about shopping in a store rather than online is that they always seem to offer you a sample of some sort. This time the lovely lady asked if I wanted to try their new mascara, and how could I say no? I do love Benefit mascara but I’ve loved to give this a try before I try something different. The lash wand looks brilliant for adding volume and with a claim to look like false lashes, I have to try it out! I haven’t used it yet but I’m so excited too and will let you all know what it is like and if it will compete with my ‘They’re Real’.
4. Studio Fix Foundation in NC15 (Sample)
I have been meaning to grab a foundation sample in Studio Fix ever since loving Face and Body. With high end foundations I love trying them before to ensure the colour is right for my skin as well as the consistency works for me. I went for NC15 (#palegirlproblems) and was thinking this may be more appropriate for winter where my skin is even more white than it is over the summer. Again, I’ll keep you updated but I’d love to know how anyone else has got on with this foundation so be sure to let me know in the comments!
Have you tried any of these products? Or have any other MAC goodies you’d love to recommend? Let me know!
