One of the biggest things I’m already beginning to miss about the town I lived in within London was the Debenhams exactly three minutes away from my flat (totes didn’t time it, I swear.. okay, maybe I did) and so just before I left I decided to do a little Debenhams Beauty Haul just for old times really,eh? That and I was given a voucher with almost £100 on it from my previous work and had a list of new products I really wanted to try and so I saw this as the opportunity to finally add them to my basket! So keep on reading to find out exactly what I picked up…
#1) MAC Burgundy X 9 Palette
I’ve been eyeing up this palette for the longest time, but decided against adding it to my collection in favour of my Makeup Geek Shadows with a particular focus on burgundy shades there. That said, I’ve remained curious – the fact you get all of the shades in a miniture compact is not only super convenient but also so aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been so impressed with the Eyeshadow compact from the MAC X Ellie Goulding Collection I bit the bullet. Ever since waiting for my order, I’ve heard a few negative reviews stating these do not wear well and that the pigmentation is not impressive. I’ll be putting this to the test and giving you all my full review once I’ve put it through its paces. If any of you are interested in any looks I create from it, do let me know, as I can film them for my Youtube channel!
#2) Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray (Oil Control)
Another item that has been on my radar for quite some time.. I’ve been using my Fixing Spray by Makeup Revolution and although it has been a good performer, I’m curious to see if it really is a dupe for a higher end product or if this blows it out of the water. Who knows?! I chose the oil control one too as with the weather being hotter, I seem to get so much more oily throughout the day and hope this keeps that at bay and help the longevity of my makeup! I again can’t wait to try it out and report in to let you know how I get on with it!
#3) Origins Clear Improvements Face Mask
Another highly coveted product I had to try out for myself. Spring puts particular focus on imporving the skin as opposed to finding products to cover imperfections and having never tried an Origins product before I figured it was finally time. From the research I have done, this was recommended as the best all round, skin improving mask available for my type of skin and so I’m super excited to test it out for myself. It is very expensive for the amount of product you get, but you can’t really put a price on having amazing skin now really, can you?
#4) Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask
Now this came free with any Origins purchase which was a definitely bonus! Again, aimed to clear up skin and hydrate it in the drier months. What with this week starting my 6am starts for work, this is one I’m definitely going to have to use ASAP. Really good size for a sample – will probably get 2/3 masks out of it!
#5) Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I’ve purchased two mascaras in this haul, this being the first. Again, a product that has so much hype within the blogging community, I really began wanting to try it out for myself! The hourglass shape wand looks like no other that I have already and although I’m very picky when it comes to mascaras, I have very high hopes for this!
#6) Benefit They’re Real Mascara
An old favourite! My current They’re Real is beginning to run out and so I had to add another one to my basket to replace it as I love the way it makes my lashes look as if I’m wearing false eyelashes. I went from wearing this only on occasions to wearing it on the daily and my micellar water helps to remove it really easily, that said, I do really want to try out the They’re Real Remover but haven’t quite managed to justify spending so much on it yet.. has anyone else tried it? Let me know if you have so I can see if it’s worth adding to my collection.
So there we have the newest high end additions to my collection all thanks to Debenhams Beauty! I am already missing my old, local store but then again my bank balance is a little more delighted as I no longer watch something on my lunch break and walk out £50 lighter. They also have really good events on occasionally where you can get discounts on beauty items which is great (or not so much) if you’re a beauty addict like me looking to try something new!
Have you tried out any of these products or have any other recommendations? Let me know!
